Does ECi install Nitralloy exhaust valve guides in 470 and 520 cylinders?
No. ECi installs exhaust valve guides manufactured from Ni-resist cast iron. The cast iron guide is not pre-reamed so it can be precision finished after installation in the cylinder. The finishing process consists of reaming the guide slightly undersize which is followed by “ballizing” with a close tolerance tungsten carbide ball. The “ballizing” process produces a very smooth finish and a consistent diameter throughout the length of the guide for maximum heat transfer and minimum wear.
