Does eating rolled oats make my hamster fat?
Rolled oats are what I put in my rat mix as well, however, there is a warning that too much can cause constipation issues. http://www.ratsrule.com/diet.html Thats Suebee’s rat mix, which should be fine for hamsters as well, and is the mix I make for my rats. One other thing to know is that some rolled oats have sugar added, so a lot of rolled oats is probably not really good for your hamster’s overall health. If you see that your ham is eating more oats than his staple food, you should maybe lay off the oats and let your hamster eat his blocks to make sure he is getting all of his nutrients. Also make sure he gets his fresh vegetables as well as fresh, clean water so that if he is constipated he can have lots of hydration to help him out. Good luck!
