Does eating a diet high in fat contribute to PCOS and Insulin Resistance?
No, fat does not cause the “spiking” that occurs with the repeated consumption of carbohydrates. A diet high in fat may, however, not enhance your chances of weight loss and can pose other health risks. The consumption of trans-fats has been shown to increase insulin insensitivity which leads to PCOS. Trans fats are found in crackers, some chips, cookies, bakery items, pastries and margarine and should be avoided completely.
