Does Eagle NRG compete favorably with the Gates Poly Chain GT2* product?

Yes, especially when noise is an issue. Eagle NRG can be a desirable alternative to Poly Chain with exceptional horsepower capacity.

Poly Chain GT2 is an older generation of product.  The current product is Poly Chain GT Carbon – using a carbon tensile cord for even higher capacity.  Poly Chain GT Carbon drives will typically be narrower than Eagle drives, with a corresponding reduction in noise due to reduced belt width.   Eagle drives have significant issues with very accurate alignment being required due to the tooth arrangement.  Poly Chain GT Carbon has much superior performance characteristics when compared to the older technology in Eagle.
