Reining actually originated in Spain and as in most countries, most cattle working horse cultures have their own version of Reining and/or some type of a working cow horse event. In Australia, we have our own events, namely working stock horse and stockmen’s challenges. Because of our small population we have not had much chance of globalizing these events. So it makes sense to enter into an event that has already been adopted world wide. Reining is now a sport that we are very familiar with in Australia and as a country, there is no reason why we should not be very competitive. 5) What is the most common problem/expectation you see from your beginner reiner? Trying to learn and teach their horse at the same time!
