Does drinking beer heat up the body or cool it down?
Drinking any alcohol (including beer) causes the body to open up the little blood vessels in your skin. Dilated blood vessels lose heat faster — out into the air from dilated skin blood vessels. So while you feel warmer, your body heat is actually dissipating away from you — causing your *core* body temperature to go lower. You may feel warmer, but you’re actually getting cooler. You’ll notice that as soon as you stop drinking, and your body metabolizes most of the alcohol left in you.
