The yeast in beer is a completely different species than the yeast that causes yeast infections, and when you drink it, it’s simply digested. Even if the yeast in beer somehow reached your vagina it would not cause a yeast infection, and that doesn’t even matter because it won’t reach your vagina if you just drink it. Yeast infections aren’t caused by bacteria, they’re caused by a fungal infection. Taking antibiotics can worsen the infection. To treat it, you can use an over the counter treatment like monistat to help or see your doctor. A doctor will probably prescribe an antifungal pill, cream or both. It’s a good idea to see a doctor if this is your first yeast infection or if you have recurrent yeast infections.
