Does drinking alcohol and smoking pot make you temporarily dumb?
Pot is a hallucinogen, and alcohol is an anesthesia. Just quit smoking weed, and be alert about not drinking until your blitzed. Reality is not the enemy. I accept that all of us seek a way to alter our perception of reality occasionally. I listen to a CD techno mix by Paul Oakenfeld, and dance, and use chopsticks and shaker eggs, and wooden shakers to follow the rhythm of the music. Just focusing on the different instruments represented in the creativity puts me in a different mental place. It’s sort of other worldly.
Yes, it does. This happens with most people – that’s why drinking and driving, as well as driving while high, are illegal. It impairs the functioning of your motor skills, judgment, and, most relevant to what you’re speaking of, information processing. Intoxication messes with your frontal lobe, responsible for “executive cognitive functioning”, which affects things such as your attention span, your abstract reasoning, organization, as well as the other things I mentioned. It’s highly unlikely that it will make someone temporarily “smarter”, but, chemicals can affect some people differently. Be careful.
