Does Dream College Advisors work directly with the colleges and graduate schools?
No. The schools, while generally helpful to applicants, have a different agenda than those seeking admission to their programs. An important example of this is that schools always encourage students to apply to their programs, no matter how qualified or unqualified they are. Schools do this without taking any time to understand whether or not it is in the student’s best interest. They never consider whether the school is the right fit for the student, the time required to complete an application, application fees, and the emotional energy of hope that usually ends in disappointment. It is always in the school’s interest for a student to apply to their programs since application fees are a revenue source for the schools, and more applications improve a school’s “exclusivity” or “admissions yield” (the total number of students admitted / total applicants).
