Yes, mostly in the monsters. Drolls, werewolves, wyverns, and dragons are among several monsters in Dragon Warrior from mythology. Wyverns in mythology are much different than they are in Dragon Warrior (and in Japan they are called chimeras which are also from mythology and nothing like them in Dragon Warrior). Wyverns are two-legged flying dragons with a barbed tail, and chimeras is most famous as a beast in Greek mythology with a head of a lion that breathes fire.
