Does Dr. Dotson use drops every time he examines my youngster?
Once Dr. Dotson has used eyedrops on your youngster, it is possible that he may be able to “skip” the drops at the next examination. This depends on the child’s pupil size and ability to cooperate when Dr. Dotson shines the bright lights into her eyes. It also depends on the child’s prescription and entrance history. However, it is normally very important for Dr. Dotson to use drops at the initial examination. If the idea of drops is troubling to the child, we sometimes use a “spray” against the closed eyelids instead.
