It also can be used to determine the amounts remaining, if any, to satisfy a deductible figure or the remaining amount to have the maximum amount be exceeded. All this can be automatically performed by touch tone phones. The Pharmacist will take a few letters of the last name and a birth date and find the member in the benefit program. A programmed, recorded message is compiled and returns to the pharmacist the answers to his inquiry. This feature is particularly valuable during off-hours when no Help Desk is operative.
