Yes , dowry still exists in India. Formerly it was justified because, girls did not inherit father’s property. But now the law has changed. And girls too are share-holders. Unfortunaely, society still wants to hang on to Dowry. And prefers boys to girls, because they are the gold-diggers. Sad.
