Does DOR charge interest and penalties on the total amount of past-due support owed or only on the amount that the other parent doesn pay each month?
Interest and penalties are charged on the total amount of past-due support owed on the last day of the month in each case, including any support due in that month but not paid. We never charge interest on interest or penalties that were charged in a prior month. We also never charge penalties on any interest or penalties that were charged in prior months.
