Does Doom-Metal promote suicide?
Depression is a disease of the mind! Absolutely not! This is probably the largest misconception about Doom-Metal. Doom-Metal does not promote suicide and does not lead to suicidal tendencies either. Suicide is often a precipitate of mental illness, such as depression. Whilst the debate about the true cause of depression is far from over, it is certain that music has no influence at all. It is generally assumed that depression (any one of a number of types), is caused by a mixture things. A lot of doctors see a problem with the serotonin and norepinephrine synapses that cause a chemical imbalance in the brain.
