Does domain name matter for ranking purpose of sites in google search engine?
The way the search engine works for google and all other similar engines, is through the use of programs called spiders. These “robots” go through every site searching for key words in meta tags. Then when a person searches for something, the site with the most tags correlating to the search criteria is then listed. However, the bandwidth, or traffic of the site is another key factor. So, if you wish to get your site at the top, you need to add these tags to your index’s html. Then, with a combination of the tags and the incoming traffic, you will begin to reach the top of the list. As far as the actual domain, if your site is closely named to a popular site, this will automatically draw traffic.
