No. And that has been the source of much of the controversy surrounding him. Like most DJs, Rankin simply mixes together elements of other people’s music. By attaching his name to these mixes, without giving credit to the original artists, Rankin has led many of his fans to believe that he was the composer. This has angered many in the DJ community, who view this behavior as little more than piracy and completely unethical.
