Does dishonesty in a casual game carry the trait over to serious business matters as well?
I believe the real test of a person’s integrity and ethical standards is known when you are playing a game with him. Not a serious competition, no I am talking about those ‘sit on the carpet and kill the time games’. When you are a group of people laughing, snacking making pranks but at the same time playing say carom board or monopoly or black queen – something similar where the game is the core activity and the rest is filling-in to make it a fun time. I believe that when in those moments one of the players surreptitiously resorts to cheating to win, that person is exhibiting a real unguarded character. I will be very careful if not completely avoid doing business with that person. Therefore I have always been very particular in making my children play honestly always, because if the child learns to play a game honestly I believe it will turn up to imbibe these values and carry them into its adult life as well.
