Does discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity occur against persons in South Bend?
In April of 2006, SBE presented a report to the South Bend Common Council’s Personnel and Finance Committee entitled Evidence of Discrimination against GLBT Individuals in the South Bend Area. In this report, over 20 cases of discrimination against GLBT individuals in South Bend were reported, including discrimination in the areas of housing, health care, employment, and education. Difficulties with property damage and harassment were also documented.
