Does Dexter make a difference?
In a study published in 2004 (see Publications), a group of novice endoscopists trained on Dexter, performed clinical endoscopies faster and with higher performance scores than a group trained on another non-anatomical model. Preliminary results from an ongoing study indicate that competence upon first clinical bronchoscopic attempt is achieved after 2-3 hours of training with Dexter (Unpublished Data, Study in progress).
