Does depression stem from brain anatomy or brain chemistry?

0

Most depression is a result of a chemical imbalance within the make up of the central nervous system, most often it is an imbalance within the brain itself. In cases of Bi-polar syndrome, or manic-depressive, it is a result of a Biological disorder that is very similiar to diabetes. in My un-professional opinion, at least in my observations of my own depression, and others, it seems to me that while most depression is a result of biological factors, such as a chemical or hormonal imbalance, it is often triggered by environmental factors. I think that study about depression being influenced by inheritance, found that the factors that lead to the chemical or hormonal imbalances that lead to depresion can be hereditary, very much like diabetes.
