Does demerol expire?
In general though, if you keep Demerol (Meperidine) and similar drugs in their original containers, and maintain them in storage in a cool, dry environment, their potency will last for many years. For example, military drugs such as morphine from WWII stores are still found occasionally in medical supplies that are still as potent as the day they were packed. Remember it’s how the drug is stored that leads to its deterioration – the date is a reference only.
