Does Deer Park have a chorus?
Yes, we have chorus for students in grades 4 and 5. Chorus meets second semester during school hours. Letters about joining chorus are sent home some time in January. The most important requirements for participation in chorus are a love of singing and excellent behavior. Since being in chorus is an extra-curricular privilege, classroom teachers may remove students from chorus for not doing homework, poor attendance, or poor grades. There is also a group called Music Enrichment which is much smaller and meets for a few months first semester. The Music Enrichment group is selected by high scores on an aptitude test.
