Does dark matter cause ACL injuries?
By Anthony R. Edwards I see two types of dark matter on our radar. One is quite exciting, at least to this former astronomy major, and one is potentially catastrophic. According to cosmologists and astronomers, approximately 70% of the universe is made up of dark matter. Apparently, we don’t know what dark matter is composed of, how it influences the rest of the physical universe, and if it is the reason gravity is considered a weak force, compared with electromagnetism. Scientists are currently on a quest to discover what dark matter is and how it affects things. This is part of the search for what is called a grand unification theory or a theory of everything. This set of knowledge unites quantum and Newtonian mechanics, which, as I understand it, don’t match up at very small distances. I do not believe that this elusive dark matter causes anterior cruciate ligament injuries or patellofemoral pain or type II diabetes. But we really don’t know what makes up 70% of the mass of the uni
