Does Danbury have a pre-occupancy inspection law for apartments?
Yes, whenever an apartment vacancy occurs in a dwelling containing three (3) or more units, the owner must obtain a Certificate of Apartment Occupancy (CAO) certifying that the unit meets the minimum standards set forth in the Danbury Housing Maintenance and Occupancy Code.
