Does CTA have offices in ACP countries?
Although CTA has many national partners, its programmes work, where possible, on a regional rather than a national basis. In line with this, there is a Regional Branch Office (RBO) in the Caribbean and one in the Pacific. Through these RBOs, the Centre disseminates its products and organises many of its activities in the respective regions. The Caribbean RBO is hosted by the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), at the University Campus in St Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. In the Pacific the host institution for our RBO is the School of Agriculture and Food Technology, at the University of the South Pacific in Apia, Samoa. In Africa, there are no CTA RBOs, as such. Instead, CTA works through regional organisations covering the continent’s four main regions – Central, East, Southern and West Africa.
