Does Cookson Hills still have an unwed mothers program?
For several years we accepted unwed mothers who wanted to give up their babies for adoption. We took care of the girls and provided schooling for them until their babies were delivered. Then we facilitated adoptions to Christian families with the help of local attorneys. We discontinued the program when our doctor stopped doing deliveries and young mothers or their families started keeping their babies. We do have several referral sources for unwed mothers. In fact, one of our former placed children now serves on the board of an unwed mothers home in Oklahoma.
