Does cooking dog food reduce its nutritional value?

Many people are concerned that by cooking, the food will lose its nutritional value. This is not true, especially when the raw ingredients used are of a high quality, as with the Burns food. The temperature at which the food is raised to is 130 degrees centigrade for 2 seconds. It is then in a dryer for 15 minutes which reaches temperatures of 180 degrees centigrade although the ‘kibble’ only reaches temperatures of 100 degrees centigrade. The only nutrients lost during this process are some of the vitamins which are not stable in heat. A seaweed, vitamin and mineral supply is added at the start of the process to account for any losses during the process. Nothing else is degraded during the process; in fact, the cooking makes the nutrients more available. This happens because the cooking denatures the proteins and starches making them more digestible.
