Does Congressman Frank support the proposal for a “public option” in the health care bill?

0

Congressman Frank has been a strong support of a public option. He stated his position clearly in a recent appearance on The Ed Show on MSNBC: “I’m for single payer, which I think Medicare has shown is the best system. I will accept as second best a very good public option which, by the way, when the conservatives say will lead to a total public plan, they are conceding our point, namely that people will find that there is a better level of care. But I would not accept anything less than a very vigorous public option, and I don’t think a majority of the House will either.” For more information about Congressman Frank’s views about health care, see his letter to constituents.
