Does Colgate accept Advanced Placement credit?
Advanced placement, with or without college credit, may be granted to a first-year student whose performance on the College Entrance Examination Board Advanced Placement Tests (AP) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Higher Level exams gives clear evidence of competence in the courses tested. Colgate credit is granted to first-year students who achieve a 4 or a 5 on the Advanced Placement Exams. The amount of credit and/or placement appropriate to the academic development of the student is determined by the Colgate academic department concerned, following the registrar’s review of the tests and records submitted for advanced placement. Credit or exemption for scores of 3 will be determined by the appropriate Colgate academic department. Colgate recognizes the International Baccalaureate and offers credit based on individual higher level examinations results. Credit may be earned for scores of 6 or 7 on IB higher level examinations.
