Does chronic pain from fibromyalgia ever go away?”
I got FM when I was 16. Every year it gets a bit better, I get the pain less and its not as bad when it comes. I spend pretty much a year out of school, in constant pain and sleeping about 15-20 hours a day, in and out of hospital (for “tests” – super useful) so I totally understand how frustrating it is. Even now if I’m having a bad week, I can rapidly become very very down, and forget that I’ve been fine for ages, so I get weepy and lethargic and even angry. I’m on antidepressants still. I kicked them for a year once but went back to the dark place! But I’m thinking about cutting down now that i’ve finished grad school. I don’t sleep all day anymore, maybe a bit more than normal like 10 hours is a proper nights sleep for me rather than 8, and I often nap after work/college. My life is immeasurably better. I can walk up and down flights of stairs, turn the steering wheel in my car, get out of a recliner faster than my 86 year old grandmother (though it gives her such a kick to beat me
