Does chlorine really turn blonde haired peoples hair green?
With natural white-blonde, it can make your hair not really a green green, but it can make the color just a tiny bit off if you swim constantly. It’s only noticeable if you really look at it closely. When I was a kid and my hair was absolutely white-blonde, it definitely looked a bit dingy at the end of the summer. My mom finally found a chlorine removing shampoo we used, and it really helped. There are several on the market available at drug stores. Now, if your hair is colored, cholorine will strip the color right out of there, and not necessarily the way you’d think. The colors are actually made of many components combined. The chlorine may strip out one component and leave another. My sister dyes her hair black and when she swims all summer it turns a dull bluish-brown.
