Does Cherokee County provide any funding since the SRCA has assumed landscape maintenance of Sixes Road?
• Unfortunately the County cannot provide a credit for the work accomplished by SRCA. The County has partnered with SRCA since the original idea of a community association and demonstrated their commitment by providing trees for our medians and installing improved signage for areas such as the Blankets Creek Bike Trails. • Initially the completed Sixes Road plan did not contemplate the amount of lighting it now features. Through coordination with the County Engineering Department and the County Commission, SRCA received recognition for the cost savings generated and the County increased the amount of lighting for pedestrian traffic. • Cherokee County will work with SRCA to oversee standards regarding regulations governing placement of landscape additions to avoid traffic hazards.
