Does cheating or adultery affect a divorce settlement in Ontario?
That’s a tough one… I don’t think the settlement has anything to do with it. If you father is being dishonest, and you are compelled to inform your mother…I would. Just make sure that before you stir things up, that you have more to go on than just suspicion. I’d probably look for things like reciepts for gifts meals or hotels dated earlier than the seperation. Any dated photos with new girlfriend that may be around and accessable. That kind of thing… I’d definately tell my mom, but that’s me. Also be aware that you are instrumental in exposing your dad’s lie…your relationship with him…will never be the same…are you prepared for that?
