No. Today’s blown fibre and polybead materials pose no health risk as they are fume free and out of reach. The expanding foam process originally used was recognized to release unpleasant fumes as it cured. However, this process is only used now if walls are in a poor, crumbly condition and would benefit from ‘sticking together’. In this scenario the work is booked in for a time when residents will be on holiday, thus minimizing any possible exposure to fumes.
