Does CATSA work with the Transportation Security Administration of the United States, a part of the US Department of Homeland Security?
CATSA is a crown corporation reporting to Parliament through the Minister of Transport. CATSA is responsible for the delivery of consistent, effective and professional services at or above the standards set by Transport Canada. CATSA is governed by an eleven member Board of Directors, including representatives of the airline industry and airport operators. CATSA does not fall under the purview of the US Homeland Security Department and as such is not related to the United States of America’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA). However, CATSA does collaborate with TSA, as well as other foreign national aviation security organizations.
