Does CAST offer LED fixtures?
CAST does not manufacture LED fixtures at this time. The type of bright white LED’s that would be suitable for landscape lighting are, as of now, still too expensive and unreliable. Promises of 50,000 hrs. to 100,000 hrs. of LED lamp life are unproven and some early adopters of LED products have recalled their products due to failures in the field. When we are confident that LED’s will deliver reliable and consistent performance, then we may release LED versions of our fixtures.

All CAST Area/Path Lights are available with an LED light source. (Model numbers end in …LED1.) • CAST Engineered Wall Light available with integrated LED light source (CEWL1LED1). • CAST MR-16 Lights (CBL1CB, CBAL1CB, CCTl1C, CWLMR16) may be fitted with any of several brands of MR-16 LED’s. • CAST lights that use our wedge-base S8 type lamps (CWW1CB and Area/Path Lights with model numbers ending in …CB) may be fitted with any of several brands of LED’s with this socket type. • CAST fixtures that are not yet adaptable to LED’s are the CNL1CB, CDL1CB, and CDL2CB. CAST Lighting is in the midst of an aggressive LED research and development program. We anticipate all CAST Lighting fixtures to be LED compatible by 2011.
