Does CART run on OU home football game days?
On home football game days, the heavy traffic within the city of Norman makes it necessary for CART to suspend its daily routes because it cannot pick up masses of people at 112 stops and transport them throughout the 10 square miles it serves with its usual daily transport of 45 runs. As it does on other days, CART must serve the largest number of people in the most rapid manner on home football game days. To do so, CART only has two pickup points, both of which are located in areas selected for their abundant parking: Lloyd Noble Center on the south and Max Westheimer Airport on the north. Even with only two access points, CART can only pick up riders at the northern route a total of two times on game days in one-hour intervals because traffic control is focused on the southern end of Norman.
