Does CARF require “abstinence” as a standard?

0

There is no current standard requiring abstinence either in the Opioid Treatment Manual or the CARF Behavioral Health Standards Manual. Years ago, CARF did have a standard as part of its Alcohol and Other Drug standards requiring abstinence, but that has changed, as all CARF standards are field driven and revised over time as the field changes.
