Does Carbon, Nitrogen, and oxygen occur naturally as a single element or always combined?
All three occur as elements in their own right and don’t need to be in molecules to exist the other interpretation is whether they are monoatomic or diatomic Carbon exists as a monoatomic element in it’s natural elemental form Oxygen and Nitrogen exist as diatomic molecules in their natural elemental forms (O2 and N2)
