Does Cacao breed Exotic Shorthairs?

0

No. And, for those who might be confused – Exotic Shorthairs ARE NOT SHORTHAIR PERSIANS. The Exotic Shorthair breed is one of mixed ancestry – everything from random bred “street cats”, to British Shorthairs, American Shorthairs, Russian Blues, and Burmese are all included in their gene pool. Do not be deceived – they DO NOT have the same personalities as Persians! The shorthair gene does make their personalities a little more excitable. Grooming is also very intense – they are a double-coated breed that sheds *intensely* during spring and fall. While we admire Exotic Shorthairs for their own unique beauty, we do not see them as shorthair Persians – for they truly are not. Just as the Viceroy butterfly will never truly be a Monarch butterfly, neither will the Exotic (regardless of coat length) ever truly be a Persian.
