Does British Columbia observe Daylight Saving Time?
Like most provinces in Canada, Daylight Saving Time is observed in British Columbia, where the time is shifted forward by 1 hour, resulting in a 7 hours difference behind Greenwich Mean time (GMT-7). After the Summer months the time is shifted back by 1 hour resulting in the normal 8 hours difference behind GMT. NB Some parts of British Columbia, east of the Rockies do not follow the official time zone but use Alberta time instead. Quite a significant part of South Eastern British Columbia observes Mountain Time (same as Alberta.). This includes large areas West of the Rockies.Furthermore, there is at least one large agricultural region (Creston Valley) that does NOT observe daylight saving time.
