Does braces hurt the first time u got the on? and how long does it take for them to put it on?
If you get them on with the wires and brackets, it will really hurt. If its just the brackets and they put the wires on later, then it will only feel really strange. It takes about an hour for them to glue every single bracket on. When they do that, it doesn’t hurt but it’s a bit uncomfortable, having to sit there for so long without closing your mouth. After you get them, there’s lots of foods you can’t eat such as corn, gum, really sweet stuff, hard/sticky/chewy candy, etc but they will give you a list. Be sure you brush your teeth/floss/rinse really really well every night to keep them clean–even if you just don’t feel like it. Trust me, it will be worth it. Sometimes they may have you wear rubber bands and some places require headgear, but they will tell you specifically what to do. After they remove the braces (about 2 years, depending on your plan), you will have to wear a retainer for the required amount of time.
