Does bond for deed qualify for first time home buyer tax credit?

From what I understand it does. I am about to do a bond for deed on my property, and my concern was that the buyer would notget the tax credit if our paperwork was not in by the deadline. I spoke to an escrow company and they said as long as the contract is in place before the deadline you will still get the tax credit, no matter how long it takes to go to closing. Call an escrow company in your area and they should be able to help you!
