Yes, Blue Shield offers two types of health plans: HMO and EPO. Learn more about the HMO plans – NetValue HMO, Access+ HMO, and the EPO plan. Beginning January 1, 2008, Blue Shield began offering a new HMO plan, NetValue HMO plan. This plan offers a specific network of select Blue Shield medical groups that are a subset of the CalPERS network of medical groups. The plan is designed to provide savings with the same comprehensive benefits and quality coverage you’ve come to expect from Blue Shield. The difference is that you must select your Personal Physician from one of the medical groups in the NetValue network, which is a subset of the current Access+ HMO network.
