Does Blue Leaf guarantee 100% perfect results?
In an effort to keep our prices low, our staff does not perform manual page-by-page inspection on our scans. To do this would significantly increase our per-page cost. Thus, we do not guarantee perfect OCR accuracy or visual “cleanliness” (for example; some pages may contain a slight skew of a couple degrees, or black pages may not auto-crop accurately). Due to the limitations of OCR technology today, it should also be assumed that there will be OCR errors that will require editing. If a customer is publishing their books online, then in most cases he/she will start with the Word document we provide, and make the necessary edits/proofs prior to submitting online (most online publishers accept Word/HTML format). Please also be aware, our ebook conversions (HTML, PRC, ePUB) are also based on the OCR results, and will thus contain some errors. This is why we provide this service for “personal-use only”.
