Does blood type make a difference with negative and positive gram bacteria?

Blood type does not affect what bacteria can cause infections in your blood. Gram positive and negative bacteria refers to the type of cell wall that the bacteria have and actually refers to the colour the bacteria are in a gram stain. This has nothing to do with blood types – the negative and positive in a blood group refers to the presence or absence of the Rh protein on the surface of the red blood cells and has no correlation with which bacteria can or cannot cause infection in that person.
