Does Benzoyl Peroxide really work on acne?

0

Hey, I have mild acne and I use Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% which was prescribed by my doctor. Its only been a week since i’ve used it and i’ve already seen a major improvement! At first, my skin was quite dry and red after using it and in some places it was peeling. However, once your skin gets use to the product it won’t be a red and dry. What I would recommend is to start of with a small percentage like 2.5% or even 5% since the 10% will be more harsh as your skin isn’t used to it. My doctor said to try a smaller percent and if that doesn’t work, then work your way upwards. But, if this isn’t an option, only use a bit at first and increase the amount you use. If you don’t notice an improvement at first, don’t stop using it. Your skin will look worse before it gets better. Also, when I started using it, I wanted to know how long it takes to start working, so I guessed you might too. There is a table on this website giving you an idea of what your skin will look like throughout the weeks:
