Does being a BBA Scholar mean that I’ll get into the BBA Honors Program?
A11. No. You have been selected as a Business Scholar based on your performance prior to entering SMU. Selection for the BBA Honors Program is based entirely on your performance at SMU. Every entering student starts at SMU with a clean slate – so every student has an equal opportunity to develop an outstanding record at SMU and to apply for this program. Students apply for the BBA Honors Program in the spring of the sophomore year through a competitive application process, with a limited number of students (normally 30) selected each year. Factors considered include performance in previous honors courses (both business and university honors courses), activities, community service, leadership, and an essay.
