You would think that a country that banned alcohol would have learned something about dealing with social problems. Prohibition definitely did not stop people from drinking alcohol. In fact, it gave the gangster Al Capone an opportunity to build a criminal empire to satisfy the demand. At one time the law banned the lottery. However, gambling and organized crime benefited greatly through illegal games. Looking for other means to raise state and municipality revenue, governments made these vices legal and now enjoy the tax revenue. However, the problem again shows that the government cannot dictate the solution to psychological and spiritual problems. They do not have the kind of power to transform mankinds mind. What is violence? Now violence in reality is an inherent part of the mans psyche, just as other attributes, such as love, compassion, will, and reason, are a part of the psyche.
